Mohit Suri to judge reality show Fame-istan, will help aspiring directors create short films

Having previously judged the dance reality show Nach Baliye, director Mohit Suri is back to the reality show scene once again, this time dabbling in his own field of expertise — direction.[caption id="attachment_3935661" align="alignleft" width="380"] Director Mohit Suri. Image from Getty Images.[/caption]The director is all set to appear on MTV's latest reality show Fame-istan, wherein he, along with a series of other directors from Bollywood will guide four chosen participants through the process of film making, as the aspiring director's go about making their respective short films.The show will start off with a routine call-for-entry promotional video urging actors and technicians to come forth and participate in the show. This video will reportedly feature Suri.Once Suri reviews the final short films that have been submitted by the contenders, he will choose a winner from the lot.“I’m glad that there’s a platform for budding moviemakers to bring their imagination to life. I had to take over someone else’s film. I was asked, ‘What if the film doesn’t do well?’ I said I hadn’t given myself that option. That was my innocence. I was so happy about the opportunity that I didn’t harp on the box office success or failure. My mentor, Mahesh Bhatt, once told me, ‘Go do for someone else what I have done for you’. This could be my way of thanking Mr Bhatt," said Suri, according to a Mumbai Mirror report. Suri's first film was the 2005 Zeher.He also feels the need to tell the younger generations of aspiring director's that they should just soldier forward and not let anything stifle their voices and visions.Mohit Suri's list of films include Kalyug (2005), Murder 2 (2011), Aashiqui 2 (2013) and Ek Villain (2014)
