LS polls: Officials in Rajasthan asked to expedite preparations

Jaipur: Election officials in Rajasthan have been asked to expedite preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.Rajasthan Chief Electoral Officer Ashok Jain today directed all district election officials to make proper arrangements as per the guidelines of the Election Commission and expedite preparations for the polls.[caption id="attachment_1418849" align="alignleft" width="380"] Representational image. Ibnlive[/caption]Addressing the inaugural session of a two-day training programme, Jain asked the officials to set up district level control room and toll free numbers, and arrange meetings with leaders of political parties, after the announcement of elections.He asked the officials to keep strict vigil against misuse of money by candidates, and monitor the visits and rallies of political leaders during campaigning, a spokesperson said.Jain also asked them to run awareness campaigns and activities to motivate voters.ADG (Law and Order) Navdeep Singh and ADG (ATS) Alok Tripathi also gave necessary directions to the officials with regard to law and order and security arrangements for the polls.In a bid to boost the morale of the officials, Jaipur District Collector Krishna Kunal honoured and felicitated ten officers with cash prize of Rs 11,000 yesterday for their work during 2013 Assembly elections.PTI
