Karnataka is a few weeks away from going to the polls and electing its 15th Assembly and the BJP state leadership appears locked and loaded for what is set to be an intensely communal campaign. On Tuesday, the Twitter handles of the party state unit and general secretary MLA CT Ravi sent out missives with the hashtag #JihadiMuktaKarnataka that stopped just short of calling Chief Minister Siddaramaiah a jihadi sympathiser.The party handle tweeted:

Siddaramaiah and the ruling Congress have yet to respond to these tweets. For now though, the BJP appears to be dipping into its bag of Hindutva ammunition ahead of the polls and it remains to be seen if the #JihadiMuktaKarnataka motif is one that the party will adopt over the course of its campaign to regain power in the southern state.
