Jharkhand: Two undertrials shot dead breaking out of jail; 13 others escape
As the police personnel guarding the premises opened fire, two of the prisoners who attempted the escape were killed, the official said.

Chaibasa, Jharkhand: Two undertrials of Chaibasa jail were killed on Tuesday in police firing and at least 13 others managed to escape in West Singhbhum district.[caption id="attachment_1646797" align="alignleft" width="380"]

Reuters[/caption]The incident took place when the head count of the 53 prisoners was in progress within the jail soon after they were brought back to the prison following production in the local court on Tuesday, DIG (Kolhan) Md Nehal told PTI.As the police personnel guarding the premises opened fire, two of the prisoners who attempted the escape were killed, the official said.A high alert has been sounded in the district and its borders sealed, he said.Unconfirmed reports, however, put the casualty figure of prisoners at five.PTI
