Jethmalani says Asaram's victim has 'chronic disease that draws her to men'

Thursday's hearing on the bail petition of self-styled godman Asaram Bapu who is in jail for the alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl was marked by an amazing assertion by his lawyer Ram Jethmalani who said the victim was afflicted with a chronic disease, "which draws a woman to a man".[caption id="attachment_1114067" align="alignleft" width="380"] The self styled Godman said he also had a neurological problem that prevented him from sleeping: PTI[/caption]Jethmalani also said that this 'disease' was under police investigation. There were no further details available on the nature of the so called 'disease'.In a jam-packed court room, Jethmalani also argued that the FIR, the scene of crime, age of the girl and the entire case itself was fabricated.The case in the Rajasthan High Court was deferred till 18  September, and the judge also directed the prosecution to produce the case diary in the court at the next hearing.But it was not just the victim who was purportedly suffering from a bizarre illness. Asaram Bapu who appeared before the District and Sessions' Court, personally requested the judge to accept his request of allowing his personal female doctor to treat his "chronic neurological disease", which he called "trinadi shool".When asked about the disease, he told the judge that it was a disorder which deprived him of a sound sleep.PTI
