A fire broke out early on Saturday in an under construction building near Mumbai's Kamala Mills compound. The fire was doused, and no casualties were reported.The incident comes exactly one year after a similar fire broke out in the Kamala mill compound, and killed 14. The massive fire of 29 December, 2017 broke out at two rooftop pubs in the Kamala Mills compound, operating in violation of several safety norms. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), in its reports, had confirmed that the blaze emerged from Mojo Bistro and spread rapidly to 1 Above.The BMC, in its ongoing inspection of the Compound premises, found gross violations, including misuse of floor space index (FSI), and alterations of space without permission in many units. The inspection was carried out jointly with the State Industries Department and the report will be ready in a month, The Hindu reported.Earlier this year, another fire had broken out at Kamala Mills compound on 7 September, 2018. It was a Level 1 fire which started at the backside of the compound where some new construction was being undertaken.
