'Drunk' teenager runs over footpath dwellers in Delhi, kills 2, injures three
At least two people were killed and three injured on Thursday after a car ran over people sleeping on footpath near Delhi.

Reuters[/caption]The car also had two other occupants, all of whom are Class 12 students, who managed to escape, the police said.According to Hindustan Times, the trio were returning from a party celebrating their last exam.The report also noted that the student would be turning 18 in four months time.The Times of India quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the teenage driver lost control of his car and had been 'driving zig-zag' before climbing onto the footpath.According to the report, during interrogation, the student claimed that he belongs to a well-known school in Delhi.Deputy Commissioner of Police, North district, Jatin Narwal said that locals caught the driver after the accident and handed him over to the police.Narwal said the driver is a resident of Model Town in north Delhi. The DCP, however, has refused to reveal his name until the age was confirmed.The police is now investigating whether the student was inebriated while driving."He was driving his friend's father's car. His friends fled the scene after the accident," Narwal told IANS.The police said that it registered a case at the Kashmere Gate Police Station and added that is continuing to probe the matter.
