Delhi again: 10-year-old girl molested by PT teacher in school

A 10-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a physical education teacher at a private school in south west Delhi's Dabri area.

New Delhi: A 10-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a physical education teacher at a private school in south west Delhi's Dabri area."The incident came to light around 8:30 am when the girl's parents approached us and reported that the accused allegedly lured their daughter with a chocolate and took her on stairs leading to the school's terrace and molested her," said a police official.[caption id="attachment_1840655" align="alignleft" width="380"] Representational image. AFP.[/caption]On reaching home the girl narrated her ordeal to her mother. Police have arrested the accused, identified as Surjeet (27), and booked him under relevant sections of IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.Locals alleged that Surjeet had molested other girls in the past as well but the issue was suppressed by the school authorities. The girl was given counselling by an NGO in the presence of her mother, police said.PTI
