UP: Dacoits murder SP leader in Firozabad after robbing home
A group of dacoits attacked the house of a local Samajwadi Party leader, killing him and injuring his wife in the wee hours today near Shikohabad, police said.

Firozabad: A group of dacoits attacked the house of a local Samajwadi Party leader, killing him and injuring his wife in the wee hours today near Shikohabad, police said.Around 15 to 20 dacoits raided the house of 60-year-old Ram Ratan Yadav, an SP leader living near Madhoganj railway crossing. They also looted cash and ornaments worth over Rs 20 lakh after tying down all the people in the house, SP Ajay Mohan Sharma said.[caption id="attachment_1658693" align="alignleft" width="380"]![Representational image. AFP[/caption]When the occupants tried to raise an alarm the dacoits attacked them with 'lathis' resulting in the death of Yadav and inflicted serious injuries on his wife who was later rushed to a hospital in Agra, Sharma said.The body has been sent for post-mortem, and efforts are on to nab the culprits, he added.PTI
