Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has been summoned by the Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha on October 31 in connection with the "cash-for-query" allegations against her.The Ethics Committee held its first meeting today where its head and BJP MP Vinod Kumar Sonkar said that the panel will seek assistance from the Ministries of Home Affairs and IT in probing the allegations against the TMC MP.On Thursday, BJP parliamentarian Nishikant Dubey, along with advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai submitted their statements to the committee in connection with the matter."Committee heard both the people who were summoned today - the lawyer and Nishikant Dubey. Their evidence were looked into. Looking into the seriousness of it, the Committee decided to summon Mahua Moitra asking her to appear before it on 31st October," Sonkar said.After his meeting with the committee, Dehadrai said, "I have told the truth before the Committee. All members of the committee enquired from me cordially. I answered to all that was asked from me."In his complaint to Speaker Om Birla, BJP member Dubey has cited documents shared by Dehadrai to back his cash-for-query allegations against Moitra.
