Bengal: College student beaten to death in clash between student unions of Cong, TMC
A college student in Bengal was on Friday beaten to death during a clash between student unions of Congress and Trinamool Congress.

AP[/caption]Krishna Prasad Jana, a third year student of BA of Sabang College, was beaten up allegedly with sticks and bamboos in the clash which took place at the college at Sabang in West Midnapore district.He died on his way to the hospital, police said.Both the Congress's student wing and Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) have claimed that Jana was their member.District Congress president Bikash Bhuniya claimed the student had protested against felicitation of Mohapatra, West Bengal minister in-charge of water resources, and was beaten to death by TMCP.Following Jana's death, Congress workers put up road blockades at Sabong and neighbouring Temathani.When contacted TMCP district working president Prodyut Ghosh, he said "the clash was the result of internal feud within Chhatra Parishad," and claimed that four members of TMCP were hospitalised after it.PTI
