After Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar said that he was worried about girls consuming alcohol, several women were quick to take him on for his apparent sexist remark. Under the hashtag #GirlsWhoDrinkBeer, several women on Twitter posted their images as well as short videos with beer. Take a look:
A former army officer posted a 25-year-old photo of her enjoying beer.
Some even tweeted showing themselves enjoying a drink in the company of their fathers.
Some were creative too!
One user also took a veiled dig at Modi for mocking Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury"s laughter.
Some teetotalers also joined in to show their support. "I don't drink alcohol by choice... but still want to support #GirlsWhoDrinkBeer... so cheers!" she tweeted.
Some users also had a piece of advice for the former defence minister.
While addressing the State Youth Parliament, an event organised by the state Legislature Department in Panaji, Parrikar had said, "I have begun to fear now because even the girls have started drinking beer. The tolerance limit is being crossed."With inputs from IANS
