An army jawan died on Tuesday allegedly after his service rifle went off accidentally in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Jammu: An army jawan died on Tuesday allegedly after his service rifle went off accidentally in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.The jawan identified as Anil Kumar, who was posted in Mehndar Tehsil of the district, was seriously injured when his service rifle went off accidentally, a police officer said.[caption id="attachment_2555972" align="alignleft" width="380"] Representational Image. AFP[/caption]He said that the jawan, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, was rushed to the hospital but he was declared brought dead by the doctors.He said that the police has registered a case and started investigations into the incident.
