Thane: Two men were arrested for allegedly gang-raping a 21-year-old woman from Kasara village in Thane, police said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when the victim was going to her aunt's house in Wadi from Devul in Thane.She was walking alongside a railway track when she was waylaid by two men, who took her to a secluded place and allegedly gangraped her, Kasara police station inspector Ajay Vasave said.The girl somehow managed to rescue and reached home in the evening where she narrated the incident to her parents, following which a complaint was lodged with the police, the officer said.Police have nabbed Ramesh Sable, 22, while the other accused, identified as Sachin Wasave, is at large and a manhunt was launched to arrest him.The two have been booked under IPC section 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and further investigation into the matter was on, he added.In another incident, a youth allegedly raped a minor girl in Usgaon village near here on Sunday while she had gone out of her house to answer nature's call, sub-inspector of Ganeshpuri police station, AB Ravan said.The youth took her into the jungles and repeatedly raped her, he said, adding, the family of the victim filed a case on Tuesday.The accused has been identified was Ramesh Wanzari from Vasai area, who is at large and efforts are on to nab him, the officer added.PTI
