EC to issue voters' slips to filter bogus voters in Gujarat

To prevent bogus voters from piling on votes, the EC has now decided to issue voter's slips to each person which will also have the name of the polling officer of the respective booths and the number of the control room.

The Election Commission is leaving to stone unturned to make sure that the Gujarat polls are transparent and has little room for foul play. According to poll officials, 99.66 per cent of the electorate is covered under the Election Photo Identity Cards. Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Anita Karwal said that the voter's slip will specify the area where a person is supposed to vote. It will also contain the numbers of the polling officer and the control room.
The report also says that in case a person doesn't receive a slip beforehand, he can be issued one at the polling both by the officers present.
