Vote Congress out: Hema Malini tells Manipur

Imphal: Actress-turned BJP MP Hema Malini today asked the people of Manipur to vote the "corrupt" Congress government out of power as it has "failed miserably" in providing basic amenities.Addressing an election meeting at Thangmeiband Assembly constituency near here, the party's star campaigner alleged that the Congress government of Okram Ibobi Singh has "ruined the state".[caption id="attachment_188054" align="alignleft" width="380" caption="Hema Malini. Reuters"][/caption]"Manipur is called the Jewel of India but the corrupt Congress governments down the years have destroyed the state. The economy has been ruined and people are leading a life which is totally backward," she said.The state is endowed with rich natural resources and there is huge tourism potential but the Congress government has failed to capitalise on these."Please vote for a change and elect our candidate (Meinam Bhorot Singh)," she told a huge gathering at the Nagamapal area at Imphal (West).She also lashed out at the UPA government at the Centre saying nothing has been done to ameliorate the sufferings and immense hardships of the people of the state.
