Police kill four Maoists in Assam, one cop wounded
Search operations were continuing in the area and huge quantities of arms and ammunition were recovered from the area.

Guwahati: Four suspected Maoists were killed and a police constable critically injured in an encounter between the rebels and police in a remote village of Assam's Tinsukia district today, police said.[caption id="attachment_303907" align="alignleft" width="380" caption="Time to increase guard. [/caption]Acting on a tip-off about the presence of a group of Maoists at Deopani Borgora village under Sadiya police station, cops launched an operation in the area. In the the ensued encounter four Maoists were killed and a police constable was seriously injured. Search operations were continuing in the area and huge quantities of arms and ammunition were recovered from the area. The constable was identified a Achinta Das and he was being brought to the Assam College Hospital at Dibrugarh, police said.PTI
