Itanagar: The North Eastern Electrical Power Corporation (Neepco) has assured Arunachal Pradesh that it will monitor discharge of water from the Ranganadi hydropower project, official sources said today.[caption id="attachment_1162025" align="alignleft" width="380"]

Image courtesy Neepco[/caption] Neepco has also assured that it will install warning sirens at strategic locations in downstream areas within a month.The assurance was given in a meeting between Planning parliamentary secretary Nabam Rebia and Neepco officials S Chakraborty and KG Mittal on Tuesday.The measure would be taken in view of frequent loss of life and property in the project’s downstream area due to heavy discharge of water from the project without intimation from time to time, the sources said.
