JD(S) leader ends indefinite fast after two days
JD(S) leader Kumaraswami has called off his fast following pressure from his party members to quiit.
Bangalore: JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy today ended his indefinite fast. He began his fast two days ago demanding that the BJP initiate a CBI probe into allegations that he and his family had amassed illegal wealth worth Rs 1,500 crore. In view of the medical report, Deve Gowda convened an emergency meeting of senior party leaders at which was it decided to direct Kumaraswamy to call off the fast.Senior JD(S) leader, M C Nanaiah communicated the party's decision to Kumaraswamy and insisted that he abide by it.Kumaraswamy had launched the fast demanding that the state government seek a CBI probe into the allegations BJP released in a 53-page chargsheet two weeks ago.
