CBI registers cases on imported coal supply to NTPC, NSPCL

New Delhi: CBI has registered cases related to supply of low quality imported coal to NTPC and NSPCL (NTPC-SAIL Power Company Ltd), Parliament was informed today."As per information provided by the Ministry of Power and the NTPC, the CBI has registered a case for supply of low quality imported coal at NTPC Unchahar against contract awarded to STC," Minister of State for Coal Pratik Prakashbapu Patil said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.[caption id="attachment_1396687" align="alignleft" width="380"]

Getty Images[/caption]"Similar case has been registered in respect of imported coal supplied at NSPCL Bhilai Project under coal supply contract awarded by them to MMTC," the minister said. In January, CBI teams have conducted search operations in the offices and residential premises of some officials at NTPC Unchahar and at NSPCL Bhilai project, Patil said.
