Power Grid to invest Rs 252 cr in two transmission projects

New Delhi: State-run Power Grid Corp today said its board has approved investments worth Rs 252.31 crore for two transmission projects.

The power utility would invest Rs 96.27 crore for 'Northern Region System Strengthening Scheme - XXVII', which is expected to be complete within 20 months from the date of investment approval, according to a regulatory filing.

Another investment to the tune of Rs 156.04 crore would be made for 'Augmentation of Transformers in Northern Region - Part-A'. The commissioning schedule is 22 months from the date of getting the board's green signal.

The two investments were approved by the board, during its meeting held on December 6.As on November 30, Power Grid was operating about 96.303 circuit kilometres of transmission lines.
