Brazil limits officials to two terms in sports organizations

Brazil: The Brazilian Senate has approved a bill that bans sports organizations from re-electing the same president for more than two consecutive four-year terms.The bill affects all sports bodies which receive public funds, including the Brazilian Olympic Committee, which has had the same president, Carlos Nuzman, since 1995.It wasn't clear if the Brazilian football federation would be affected. The federation doesn't receive government funds but it is entitled to tax breaks. Former president Ricardo Teixeira, who left the entity amid corruption allegations, was in charge from 1989-2012.The bill passed late Tuesday also prohibits relatives from presidents to succeed them, and adds requirements that would force sports bodies to be more transparent in order to receive public funds.Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff is expected to sanction the bill.AP
