BJP seeks probe into Chidambaram's role in sanctioning Vodafone deal
BJP leader Kirit Somaiya alleged the finance ministry had overruled the opinion of some of its own officials in according sanction to Vodafone's acquisition of stake in Hutchinson Limited.

[/caption]New Delhi: BJP today demanded that the finance ministry and the Prime Minister's Office should probe the sanction to the Vodafone-Hutch deal which it alleged had to evasion of huge sum of taxes.BJP leader Kirit Somaiya alleged the finance ministry had overruled the opinion of some of its own officials in according sanction to Vodafone's acquisition of stake in Hutchinson Limited. He claimed that all the documents relating to the deal were not being made public or presented to the Supreme Court which is hearing the matter.PTI
