Air India woos flyers with promotional fare till 15 Jan

This discount ticketing had helped the airline claw back a part of its lost market.

Mumbai:National carrier Air India today extended its short-term promotion scheme, Silver and Platinum Pass' launched in June offering concessional fares to cash on the holiday season, up to 15 January.

This discount ticketing had helped the airline claw back a part of its lost market, which was a poor 13.2 percent in May following the 10-day pilots' strike, and rose to 17.4 percent in August.

The Silver and Platinum Pass being offered in two variants for unlimited travel in the Economy and Executive classes on the domestic sectors of the national carrier will now be valid for 15 days instead of the 10 days initially offered, the airline said in a release.

Passengers buying the Silver Pass can fly on the economy class to any domestic sector of their choice at an attractive fare of Rs 35,000 while those who purchase the Platinum Pass can travel in executive class to any domestic destination at a fare Rs 75,000, inclusive of taxes.
