MariaDB names LinkedIn database veteran Nishant Vyas as CTO

Open-source database solutions firm MariaDB has named Nishant Vyas as its new chief technology officer.Vyas, one of LinkedIn's early employees, is a veteran of database engineering for the web-scale enterprise. During his tenure, his team built and scaled key data stores to support the rapid growth of LinkedIn's membership from 6 million to more than 360 million. Earlier in his career, he worked at Wells Fargo with a team managing over 1200 databases. Nishant has a master's degree in Computer Science from University of Bridgeport and holds a patent on waterwheel sharding.
