The film starring Salman Khan and Daisy Shah in the lead roles opened at a good note, but failed to get a positive word of mouth publicity. Thus, the film's entry into the Rs 100 crore club is quite surprising.
Jai Ho had collected a 'meager' Rs 17.75 crore on its opening day. Though the film's business did pick up on 26 January and collected Rs 26 crore, it was unable to sustain it the next day. Aamir Khan-starrer Dhoom 3 has the highest opening day domestic box office collections record of Rs 36.22 crore.
Produced by Eros and Sohail Khan Productionz, the Salman Khan hit has appeared on approximately 5,000 screens worldwide starting on 24 January, 2014.
