On 13 February, PTI reported saying that although workers sought an early solution to their wage settlement talks with the management, workers of Hero MotoCorp's Gurgaon plant, they said that going on strike would be done only as a last resort measure.

The union is demanding a hike in monthly wages of up to Rs 18,000 over a three-year period, which is nearly three times higher than what the company is offering. "If you look at what is happening around us, the hikes that are being given by other companies in the Gurgaon-Manesar industrial belt, it is a reasonable demand," Justifying the demand, Kanwalpreet Singh,Hero MotoCorp Workers Union (HMCWU) President was quoted as saying in the PTI report.
