HCL's new Philippines BPO bets on time-zone advantage
IT major HCL Technologies opened a BPO delivery centre in Philippines, the growing BPO hub of Asia. The company wants to leverage the time-zone advantage the country has.

Expanding its global presence, IT services provider HCL Technologies has set up a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) centre in Philippines in its capital city Manila. This centre would employ 400 professionals.
The company wants to leverage Philippine's time zone advantage to service the growing number of BPO customers in various verticals including financial services, healthcare in the region.

Through the centre, HCL would deliver value added services in areas such as supply chain management.
"The plan for setting up the delivery centre in Philippines was influenced by country's growing prominence as a strong BPO services hub," said Rahul Singh,president HCL Technologies.
HCL would work closely with several local universities in the Philippines to recruit young graduates. HCL Technologies reported consolidated revenues of Rs 2612 crore as of March 31, 2012.
