Former SBI chief OP Bhatt joins Tata Steel
Tata Steel has appointed former SBI Chairman O P Bhatt as additional non-executive independent director in the company with effect from today.

New Delhi: Tata Steel has appointed former SBI Chairman O P Bhatt as additional non-executive independent director in the company with effect from today.
The Board of Directors has "appointed O P Bhatt as an additional non-executive independent director on the Board of Tata Steel with effect from June 10, 2013", Tata Steel said in a BSE filing.

"Bhatt was the former Chairman of State Bank of India, which is India's largest commercial bank. He is now on the Boards of reputed Indian and foreign companies," it added.
Bhatt hanged up his boots after a five-year stint as SBI chief on March 31, 2011.
Shares of the company closed at Rs 290.40 apiece on the BSE, down 0.55 percent from the previous close.
