Custom officials seize gold bars worth Rs 90 lk from SpiceJet aircraft
Customs officials have seized three gold bars valued at about Rs 90 lakh from a Spicejet aircraft which arrived here from Dubai and have also detained one passenger in this connection.

Reuters[/caption]The gold bars, weighing one kg each, were seized from Spicejet SG018, which arrived here from Dubai last night and was to leave for Hyderabad, a customs press release said today.During a thorough search by officials, the gold bars were found concealed in the pouch containing life jacket below one of the seats of the aircraft.A gold assayer examined the bars and found them to be of 24 carat purity. The passenger, hailing from Kanuur district, who tried to smuggle in the gold bars has been detained by customs officials, the release added. PTI
