New Delhi: Mahindra & Mahindra will stop production for four days this month across its tractor plants located at Rudrapur and Jaipur in the wake of weak demand.
As part of aligning its production with sales requirements, the company would be observing no production days at its tractor plants located at Rudrapur and Jaipur for four days during the balance period of October, 2014, Mahindra & Mahindra said in a filing to the BSE.
"The management does not envisage any adverse impact on availability of tractors in the market due to adequacy of tractor stocks to serve the market requirements," it added.
Although, the Mumbai-based firm had sold 28,739 tractor units in September, up 7.39 per cent, from 26,637 units sold in the same month last year, the overall demand in the marketremains subdued.
Earlier in August, the company had stopped production for up to four days across its automotive plants in the wake of weak demand.
Mahindra shares today closed at Rs 1,318.40 apiece on the BSE, down 3.59 per cent from the previous close.
