Volkswagen's new ad is almost a Hollywood action thriller

Volkswagen's newest commercial might just put some Hollywood car chase sequences to shame. Created to promote Volkswagen's sponsorship of independent cinema, this one is clever, mischievous and riveting, all at once.

A grab from the film[/caption]
The ad opens with a bus bursting through a barricade and two men in a Volkswagen chasing it down. A man clad in overalls is terrorizing men, old women and children in the bus, and what follows is a high-adrenaline chase down the highway. One of the men in the VW car climbs out of the sun-roof and stands on the bonnet of the car. His plan is to jump onto the back of the bus, tackle the rogue and save the day. However, each time the driver of the car tries to inch closer towards the bus' bumper, he finds he is unable to. The ad abruptly pauses and the super says, "Safe Distance Technology. Made for real life, not the movies'.

Car chases are fun to watch anyway, but when the thrill comes packed in one minute of sheer adrenaline, the result is even better! Nice work, Volkswagen.
