Cancer patients' tough choices can be easier: HDFC Mutual Funds ad

HDFC Mutual Funds has released a new film to promote its Debt Fund for Cancer Cure. The Fund helps investors donate to the betterment of cancer patients, where they can choose to donate half or all of the dividend amount.

The film has been conceptualized by Publicis Ambience and is about four minutes long.

The video is set in a house, where a family has come together for a young boy's graduation party. Everyone is in a great mood, where they're singing, pulling each other's legs and having a great time. Suddenly the boy gets a request for a speech, and while initially reluctant, finally relents.

He begins by thanking his mother for everything she has done for him, and for being his rock. He then moves on to thanking his dad, which is when the viewer realizes that the latter is no more. The boy gets emotional and goes on remembering his father, who he has lost to cancer. Everyone in the room is somber, while the boy goes on to remember a time his dad was really sick. He had asked him then why he chose not to spend on his treatment instead of suffering so much. The father had told him that he wanted to save for his son's future instead. The boy says he is willing to give his degree back if he could just have some days back with his father.

A super appears on the screen that says, "If you choose to help, cancer patients won't face a tough choice".
