WebEx Announces WebEx Mail

Online meeting and collaborations solutions provider WebEx Communications has developed a new e-mail service for its WebOffice hosted applications suite.

Titled WebEx Mail, this hosted e-mail service is designed for workplace environments that have AJAX-based interfaces. WebEx Mail offers built-in search features, virus and spam protection capabilities and a centralized console for administrators to manage mailboxes, configure folders and adjust settings.

The service supports POP (Post Office Protocol) and IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) which allows it to be used in combination with desktop e-mail software and encrypt server connections to protect the information being transmitted.

It also has public e-mail folders which will allow users to share messages with others.
