VMWare Acquires NeoAccel

VMware, the virtualisation and cloud infrastructure company has acquired NeoAccel- the cloud security solutions provider. This acquisition dovetails into VMware's strategy to shape and deliver the next era of IT– cloud computing by enabling customers to deploy secure private and hybrid clouds and offer secure access to applications and virtual desktops from any device, anywhere, according to Allwyn Sequeira, CTO & Vice President, Security and Networking Solutions, VMWare.

"NeoAccel's SSL VPN-Plus product line combines the performance of IPsec VPNs with the benefits of SSL VPN technology, including increased security, simplified management, and reduced cost of ownership," said Sequeira.

"We expect to integrate the NeoAccel product line into the VMware vShield family of products, and the NeoAccel team will join VMware's Cloud Infrastructure Business Unit. We welcome them to the VMware family, and look forward to continuing to deliver on our "better security with virtualisation" promise."
