Symantec will release its next-generation enterprise security software, codenamed Hamlet, in September, a top company official said.
According to Mark F Bregman, chief technology officer, Symantec, “The proposed product is comprehensive and can take care of the enterprise needs.”
Some of the components of the proposed product are tested in the company's centre in Pune, said Anil Chakravarthy, vice president (India Technical Operations), Veritas Software India - the wholly owned subsidiary of the US firm.
Symantec is now propagating the concept of Security 2.0 that encompasses not only the methods to protect personal computers, servers and other devices, but also the information and the interactions stored in them.
"Security 2.0 looks at new threats, new protective mechanisms, new delivery methods and also new business models," remarked Bregman.
