Sterlite To Enhance BSNL's Optical Fiber Access Network
Sterlite has won a Rs 380 mn contract from BSNL to supply high fiber count Ribbon Fiber Optic Cables.
Sterlite Optical Technologies has received a contract from BSNL for manufacture and supply of high fiber count Ribbon Fiber Optic Cables. These cables would be installed in BSNL's Pan-India Optical Fiber Access Network (OAN). The contract is valued at Rs 380 Million and supplies would be completed within the next 6 months.
Sterlite RIBBON-LITE Fiber Optic Cables are suitable for installation in cable ducts. These cables are suited for bandwidth rich networks and are typically installed in the access network.
According to K S Rao, CMO - Telecom, "Over the last 3 years, Sterlite has introduced 17 products designed for the rapidly evolving needs of the Global and Indian Telecom. We are grateful to BSNL for recognising our capability of providing cutting-edge solutions for the Indian telecom industry."
