Six Third Party Auditors Empanelled By DIT To Monitor State WAN

Six Third Party Auditors (TPAs) have been empanelled by the Department of Information Technology (DIT) in India for independent evaluation and performance monitoring of State Wide Area Networks (SWAN) across India.

The empaneled list of TPAs – PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), Ernst & Young, KPMG, Telecommunications Consultants India (TCIL), Orange and PCS – would be forwarded to the states and union territories (UT) from which the state or UT would select one agency through competitive financial bidding process. As part of SWAN implementation, the auditor would do an independent audit of the implementation and performance of the network within the provisions of the contracted Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the network operator and bandwidth service provider on a quarterly basis.

Apart from auditing, the TPA will also provide timely advice to the state government on the health of the network, bandwidth upgradation, optimal utilisation, futuristic enhancement and augmentation of the capacity and exit process. The TPA will perform the role of a technology partner to the state government or UT in terms of all technical aspects of the SWAN for a period of five years from the date of final acceptance of the network.
