SEW Infrastructure Selects Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12
E-Business Suite will manage $3 billion worth of projects and equipment worth $150 million.
SEW Infrastructure (SEW), the Indian infrastructure construction company has selected Oracle's E-Business Suite Release 12 for monitoring Rs 13, 425 crore (US$ 3 bn) worth of projects and managing equipment worth Rs 671.25 crores (US$ 150 million).
The Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 has been deployed at SEW on the "software as a service" (SaaS), private cloud based model, to offer access to vendors and sub-contractors. This enables sub-contractors to eliminate capital investments by leveraging pre-configured and customised application suites ready to run their business. As part of the company’s strategic initiative to standardise its internal processes, SEW invested in Oracle Applications and technology in 2008 to improve business efficiency across its nationwide projects in financial and materials management (i.e. automate financial reporting, streamline supply chain management, and track real-time project execution), to monitor staff tracking, measure efficiency of assets and offer easy access to its digital documentation.
The Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 has reduced the time required for multiple accounting jobs such as balance sheet preparation, auditing, payments processing and maintenance of asset books. It also allows SEW's accountants keep up with the latest tax laws across India that vary by state.
The Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 applications in use include Oracle Financials, Oracle Procurement, Oracle Inventory Management, Oracle Human Resources, Oracle Payroll, Oracle Self-Service Human Resources, Oracle Enterprise Asset Management, Oracle Process Manufacturing and Oracle Projects. The intranet is based on Oracle WebCenter Suite and Oracle Universal Content Management.
"The Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 has significantly improved the way we manage our construction projects across India," said Siddhartha Meka, Chief Information Officer, SEW Infrastructure Ltd. "The integrated system enables us forecast and allocate the right resources to projects, track day-to-day execution, monitor asset performance, and ensure end-to-end process visibility nationwide."
"The Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 is providing SEW with a wide range of solutions to help manage costs, increase productivity and also enable the management to take timely business decisions," said Samik Roy, Head – Growth Applications, Oracle India. "We are delighted that SEW chose to partner with us and we will work closely with them maximse the benefit from their investment in Oracle."
