Serena Software Goes SaaS
Serena Software is providing three solutions via SaaS - Serena Mariner, Serena Business Mashups, and ALM tools.
Serena Software is providing three solutions via Software as a Service (SaaS) – Serena Mariner (Project and Portfolio Management), Serena Business Mashups, and Agile Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools.
Serena will make one of its key offerings, Serena Mariner, available on demand within the next 30 days. Serena Mariner claims to provide total visibility into project status and metrics to ensure the right people are on the right projects at the right time, delivering more value to the business. Serena Mariner gives business people a way to manage projects without creating spreadsheets in Excel.
Serena Business Mashups are already available on premise; now, the next logical step is to give customers additional choice by offering Business Mashups through SaaS.
Jeremy Burton, Serena CEO, said, “The Internet simply provides a better way to deliver software to our customers. There is no infrastructure for them to manage, they are up and running more quickly, and they pay for the value received through a monthly subscription. This is the future of the software industry, so we are starting to migrate all of our internal systems to the SaaS model – Salesforce.com, Marketbright, Postini, and Facebook are just the start for us.”
