Sage Enters Indian Payroll, HRMS Space With 'Pocket' Acquisition
The acquisition of 'Pocket' will enable Sage to enter the fast growing 'Payroll and HRMS' space in India.
The Sage Group has announced the acquisition of 'Pocket' range of Payroll and Human Resource Management software and all customer contracts from Crystal Info Solutions and its owners for an undisclosed sum. Employees of Crystal have joined Sage in its Payroll and HRMS business group.
Based in Chennai, Crystal is a player in the Payroll and HRMS space with over 300 customers across India.
Guy Berruyer, president, Continental Europe and Asia, Sage Group, said, "This acquisition of 'Pocket' will enable Sage to enter the fast growing ‘Payroll and HRMS’ space in India. It is our first acquisition in India and a step towards increasing our presence in the Indian market with a localised product and R&D facility. The acquisition allows Sage to offer a comprehensive solution comprising ERP, CRM, Payroll and HRMS to meet the needs of the Indian SMB and mid-market customers."
The Payroll and HRMS business will report to Thomas Abraham, managing director, Sage Software.
