Meet On e-Governance To Enhance Administration

Experts from over 40 countries will assemble at Asia's largest meet on 'e-Governance and Digital Learning' in the national capital to discuss ways and means of infusing information and communication technology (ICT) to provide better governance across rural and urban India.

As many as 4,000 delegates are expected to deliberate on issues like providing 'simple, efficient and prompt services to citizens through mobile and Internet' at the meet scheduled from Jul 29 to 31.

The three-day conference, starting today, has been organised by the Centre for Science Development and Media Studies (CSDMS) with support from the Ministry of IT and the UN agency for ICT development, and will focus on making e-governance initiatives available in rural India among other issues.

"Apart from discussing ways and means to leverage the capabilities of ICT to promote good governance across the country, the delegates will focus on digital learning to achieve the goal of 'education for all'," said M P Narayanan, chairman of the Centre for Science Development and Media Studies (CSDMS).
