L&T Infotech Wins SAP ERP Implementation At Tuticorin Port
L&T Infotech will integrate the port's operational, financial, real-estate and HR systems along with the Integrated Port Information System.
L&T Infotech, India’s leading IT services, business solutions and outsourcing organisation and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, a US$ 11.7 billion engineering, manufacturing and financial services organisation, has been selected to establish SAP ERP implementation of Integrated Port Information System at Tuticorin Port in Tamil Nadu, India. This system, together with all associated support systems, will improve the effectiveness of the technology deployment to cover all activities of the Port in an integrated fashion and support the systems.
L&T Infotech will implement and customise the application software for Port Operating System, SAP ERP, GIS-based Estate Management and will set up a state-of-the-art Datacentre along with campus-wide networking for Tuticorin Port and Cargo Handling Labor Pool (CHLP) premises. L&T Infotech will integrate the port’s operational, financial, real-estate and human resources systems along with the Integrated Port Information System. Once fully functional, it will provide a real-time interface with customs, port users, banks and the port community system of the Indian Ports Association.
L&T Infotech will bring its proven “domain expertise and SAP’s technology solutions," which will enable the Tuticorin Port to closely monitor performance, improve operational efficiency and provide higher standards of service to the shipping and export-import community and thus become a world class Port.
