Hitachi GST Rebranded As HGST, A Western Digital Company
There will be no change to HGST's current business with the rebranding. All HGST products will continue to be available except for products that reach end-of-life in the ordinary course of business.
Western Digital Corporation completed the acquisition of Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (also known as Hitachi GST) from Hitachi Ltd. in March 2012. The acquired business of Hitachi GST, has been rebranded as HGST, a Western Digital company.
Under the common ownership of WDC, HGST and WD are operating as separate subsidiaries with separate distinct brands and products, to meet the conditions of antitrust regulators.
There will be no change to HGST’s current business with the rebranding. All HGST products will continue to be available except for products that reach end-of-life in the ordinary course of business. HGST will honor all warranties in accordance with their respective terms.
