Two weeks ago, Google launched a Gmail app for iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches. However, it was taken right back down almost immediately because of a pretty serious bug. They have now said in a blog post that the bug has been fixed and the app is up and running in the App Store, again. Features of the app include push notifications, the ability to attach a photo to an email, speedier searches, Priority Inbox, mail organization with archiving, labeling, starring and reporting as spam, as well as viewing labels without leaving the inbox. Matthew Izatt, Product Manager for Gmail adds, "Based on your comments we have already improved our handling of image HTML messages - they are now sized to fit to the screen and you can pinch to zoom in."

The app, however, does not support multiple accounts and according to Mashable, it cannot let the user host their email on their device. However, Gmail says that fixes are coming soon and these features will be supported. Also, when the app finally will support multiple accounts, of course, it will only support Gmail-based accounts, which puts the native iOS email app in a more competitive position.
