GE Healthcare Extends Web-Based Imaging Solutions To Asia
GE Healthcare's Centricity PACS-IW Solutions for hospitals will offer Web-based portability, instantaneous image reporting and scalable business processes.
GE Healthcare has unveiled a suite of Centricity solutions targeted at hospitals and outpatient imaging centres. Building on Centricity's business process and clinical capabilities, the suite provides Web-based accessibility of IntegradWeb solutions through the acquisition from Dynamic Imaging.
"For optimal patient care, images and their related clinical information need to be available anywhere, at anytime," said Don Woodlock, vice president and general manager, GE Healthcare Information Technology (IT). "These Web- based solutions will provide hospitals and outpatient imaging centres with streamlined workflow inside and outside of their walls. Better yet, referring physicians throughout the community will be serviced with simple, yet powerful access to imaging results. Everyone benefits."
GE Healthcare's Centricity PACS-IW Solutions for hospitals will offer Web-based portability, instantaneous image reporting and scalable business processes. This single-desktop solution will drive practice efficiency, productivity for the radiologist and immediate results access for the referring physician by fostering a more collaborative approach to patient care and provider partnerships, thus driving better patient care and business practices in an increasingly competitive market.
Centricity PACS IW allows the radiologist to view images on any PC with regular monitors but for diagnosis purposes, GE recommends Barco's Coronis 6MP monitors due to their image quality, accuracy offering two screens together with equal luminance, automatic calibration and broad usability.
"Centricity PACS-IW is a one-stop destination that will take medical imaging to new heights of clinical productivity and collaboration without boundaries," said Clarence Wu, VP and Asia Pacific GM, GE Healthcare IT Solutions. "This Web-based portable solution uses state-of-the-art EMC storage technology, connects caregivers across healthcare via Internet anytime anywhere, allowing them to see more clearly, know more fully and share more widely."
