CA Tech Provides Same-Day Support For Latest IBM z/OS Release

The company aims to ensure quick turn around time for mainframe management solutions in synchronicity with the most recent IBM Developments.

CA Technologies announced “Day One” support for IBM z/OS 2.1 from 1 October 2013. CA Technologies support for the latest release of z/OS is vast and includes more than 100 products across its broad portfolio of disciplines, including Workload Automation, Security, Database Management for DB2 for z/OS and IMS for z/OS, Performance and Automation.

This investment in development, testing and research underscores the company’s commitment to its customers and its partnership with IBM. “The innovations that CA Technologies and IBM are putting into their mainframe franchises are helping customers achieve even greater business success on the most efficient, secure and cost-effective computing platform,” said Michael Madden, general manager, Mainframe, CA Technologies. “Collectively, we are investing in our technologies to help ensure our customers can further advance the scalability of their mainframe workloads – including private clouds and support for social and mobile applications and more.”

“The Early Support Program testing I performed of current versions of CA ACF2, CA Disk Backup and Restore and CA Vantage Storage Resource Manager, with appropriate patching for z/OS 2.1, went through smoothly and without a problem. We’ll be quite confident in moving to z/OS 2.1,” said Thomas Liu, Software Installation and Support, ANZ Bank.
