ATEN Launches 8-Port, 16-Port Cat 5 KVM Switches
KH1508i, KH1516i allow IT administrators to control up to 8 or 16 directly connected multiplatform servers from a single console
ATEN International has introduced 8-Port and 16-Port Cat 5 KVM Over the NET - KH1508i and KH1516i of its ALTUSEN product line, targeted at SMBs.
According to the release, KH1508i, KH1516i allow IT administrators to control up to 8 or 16 directly connected multiplatform servers from a single console or up to 256 servers in a daisy chain installation.
Kevin Chen, president, ATEN International, stated, "KH1508i and KH1516i offer BIOS-level control of all connected servers and serial devices over the LAN, WAN or even the Internet. The possibility to access multi-platform servers from off-site locations could effectively eliminate unnecessary travel and associated cost."
KH1508i / KH1516i feature the RJ-45 connectors and Cat 5 (or higher) cable connection that allows signals to travel up to 40 meters and maintain video quality of up to 1280 x 1024 pixels. Security features include password protection, encryption technologies and the Auto Scan function for monitoring user-selected computers.
