Alamy, the online stock photo site, has announced that it has extended its server infrastructure to Netmagic's co-location centre in Chennai, India. The purpose of the partnership is to make searching for images on the site - across Asia - as fast as possible.

The news follows hot-on-the-heels of the recent datacentre upgrades in the west and east Coasts of America - in New York and Los Angeles respectively.

"Netmagic is excited to partner with Alamy and enable its business in Asia by providing a highly available and redundant datacenter infrastructure. Our carrier-neutral Chennai datacentre with highly redundant burstable internet connectivity will ensure that Alamy customers enjoy low latency levels and high uptimes, thereby improving the overall customer experience." stated Sunil Gupta, President & COO, Netmagic Solutions.
