SBI gets Teachers' Day right

Now it's becoming a regular feature - brands attempting to do good for society. Some of them do a good job at it, such as Lifebuoy did with this effort.
Then there are those that do it badly, as Daikin did with their Cool-a-school farce.
Then there are the pleasant surprises like what State Bank of India does. While Daikin was playing their silly little game without donating a single airconditioner, SBI went ahead and donated fans to thousands of schools across the country.
And today, on Teachers Day, they go a big step further with this exercise.
It's wonderful at many levels. The water purifiers are a great complement to the fans that they have donated earlier. The exercise, conducted as it was across the country, is inclusive, reaching sections of society that need the help.
And finally, SBI reminds us why Teachers' Day is celebrated today - because it's the birthdate of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the academician who was also the second president of independent India.
Well done, SBI.
